Written by Dalyn Burs, a sophomore setter from San Jose
This weekend was the opening to our season, and all together a fun way to start my sophomore year. Even before I get to volleyball, on the bus ride to USF, we sang along to throw backs and attempted to dance on a moving bus. The next day we walked around San Francisco and tried claim chowder as well as watching the seals fight and swim around. For me, all the landmarks and people were so familiar and comforting, which was nice, but funny how everyone else thought San Francisco was so different and exotic.
As we faced our first match against USF, we were all very nervous and trying to figure out how to play with all these new starters compared to last season. While we struggled to fit together all the pieces, we regrouped that night and came out ready to compete and took down Utah Valley in four sets. Overall, I'd say we had a solid start and it was a nice beginning for me personally as all my family came to support the Wolf Pack!
