RENO, Nev. – After heading to San Francisco for two matches in the Battle of the Bay Tournament, the Nevada Wolf Pack (1-1) will welcome the USF Dons (1-2) to Virginia Street Gym Tuesday night in a rematch of the Pack's season opener just two matches ago.
The match is set to start at 6:30 p.m in VSG and will also be broadcast live on the Mountain West Network and NevadaWolfPack.tv. The Dons swept the Wolf Pack in their Friday match, but Nevada will look to carry some of its momentum from the win over Utah Valley, in which three players saw career performances on the court. Nevada was also able to increase its hitting percentage from .190 to .297 from the first to second match.
Although Nevada had a lot of changes to its rotation after the graduation of five seniors from last season, everyone seemed to find their groove in the first tournament of the year. Senior
Madison Foley is averaging 3.14 kills per set and junior
Peighton De Von logged eight blocks in the match against UVU alone. In fact, Saturday's match saw four Wolf Pack players record at least 10 kills in the same match for the first time since Oct. 6, 2016 when Nevada faced off with Fresno State. One of those players was sophomore
Shayla Hoeft, who logged13 kills in the win over the Wolverines, the most in her career.
Tickets for the match are still available by calling 348-PACK or visiting NevadaWolfPack.com. Those who can't make it out to VSG can tune in live to the Mountain West Network on NevadaWolfPack.tv or follow along on Twitter with @PackVB.
