THREE PLEASE
Through the Wolf Pack's first five games of the season, the team has established itself as a top threat from beyond the arc. Last season, Nevada connected on just 30.8 percent of its shots from long range, but so far this year the Pack is hitting 42.9 percent. In five games Nevada has splashed down 33 threes. Nevada's three-point shooting percentage is tops in the Mountain West and 12th nationally. Senior
Halie Bergman leads the Pack with 12 made three-pointers.
RANKED OPPONENTS
It's not often Nevada faces ranked opponents, let alone the No. 1 team in the nation. In fact, the Wolf Pack women's basketball program has never played the No. 1 ranked team. The highest ranked opponent, prior to Tuesday, that the Pack has faced in its history was Louisiana Tech, which was ranked No. 4 on Dec. 19, 1987. Louisiana Tech won that contest, 80-46. That was before the women's team played in Lawlor Events Center though. Games in Lawlor, Louisville was ranked No. 7/8 in 2008 when Nevada defeated the Cardinals 85-82. Louisville is currently the highest ranked women's team to play against the Pack in Lawlor.
HOMECOMING
For UConn senior Gabby Williams, Tuesday night's contest, and the rest of their time in Reno, will be a homecoming. Williams, a graduate of Reed High School in Sparks, has strong ties to not only Northern Nevada but the University of Nevada as well. Williams' sister Kayla is a former member of the Wolf Pack women's basketball team from 2008-12 and her father also played for the Wolf Pack men's basketball team.
