Former Wolf Pack Standouts Earn 1A FAR Academic Excellence Awards

RENO, Nev. - Wolf Pack graduates Alexa Anderson and Jacob Anderson have been named recipients of the 2012 1A Faculty Athletics Representatives Academic Excellence Awards.

To be eligible for the awards, student-athletes had to earn bachelor's degrees in the previous academic year (Sept. 1, 2011-Aug. 31, 2012), hold a cumulative GPA of 3.80 or above upon graduation and participate in at least two years of intercollegiate athletics at a NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) institution in a sport sponsored by an FBS conference.

A four-time Western Athletic Conference All-Academic selection, Alexa Anderson competed for the Wolf Pack track and field team. She served as the president of Nevada's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in 2011-12 and earned her degree in health ecology in December of 2011. A 2009 WAC All-Academic honoree, Jacob Anderson was a pitcher for the Nevada baseball team and earned his degree in biology in May of 2012.

Madison Foley

Volleyball

Sophomore Madison Foley was a top performer for the Nevada volleyball team at the Molten Classic last weekend where the Wolf Pack went 1-2. Foley posted 29 kills, 3.22 per set, while also leading the team with four service aces the four matches. The Dayton native also registered 23 digs, which ranks third on the squad, and two blocks.
