Former Wolf Pack Standouts Earn 1A FAR Academic Excellence Awards

RENO, Nev. - Wolf Pack graduates Alexa Anderson and Jacob Anderson have been named recipients of the 2012 1A Faculty Athletics Representatives Academic Excellence Awards. To be eligible for the awards, student-athletes had to earn bachelor's degrees in the previous academic year (Sept. 1, 2011-Aug. 31, 2012), hold a cumulative GPA of 3.80 or above upon graduation and participate in at least two years of intercollegiate athletics at a NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) institution in a sport sponsored by an FBS conference. A four-time Western Athletic Conference All-Academic selection, Alexa Anderson competed for the Wolf Pack track and field team. She served as the president of Nevada's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in 2011-12 and earned her degree in health ecology in December of 2011. A 2009 WAC All-Academic honoree, Jacob Anderson was a pitcher for the Nevada baseball team and earned his degree in biology in May of 2012.
