The University of Nevada Athletics Department has selected Legends Sales & Marketing to handle the department’s ticket sales operations for its football and men’s basketball programs, the school announced today.

Legends (LSM), which is based in New York City, was founded by the Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees and the group will be responsible for selling season, partial and group tickets for the Wolf Pack.

“We are extremely excited to partner with LSM,” said Rory Hickok, Nevada’s senior associate athletics director for external operations. “After a thorough evaluation of our sales operations and as we enter the Mountain West Conference, we determined that bringing LSM on board will allow us to provide better service to our current ticketholders and exponentially increase our outbound sales efforts. This will lead to higher sales and attendance figures and, in turn, a more exciting gameday environment.”

Legends will be adding up to six new sales positions for the partnerships and the sales team will be based on campus in Reno.

"It is an honor for us to be working with the University of Nevada,” said Mike Ondrejko, Legends’ chief operating officer. “Our goal has always been to form partnerships with properties that are built on strong foundations and positioned for tremendous growth and the University of Nevada certainly fits that profile. We are looking forward to folding our expertise into the Wolf Pack culture and are very bullish on the potential for success."

Nevada recently became a member of the Mountain West Conference.  The Wolf Pack football team has competed in seven straight bowl games and it’s 2012 home schedule includes games against South Florida, San Diego State, Fresno State and Boise State. The Nevada men’s basketball team is coming off one of the most successful seasons in school history, including a conference championship in its final season in the WAC and an appearance in the quarterfinals of the famed NIT.

Ricardo Ramos will be the general manager of sales and will lead the LSM team at Nevada.  Ramos comes to Nevada from Denver, where he ran a ticket sales consulting company working with various university athletic departments.  Prior to that, he spent time as the Director of Ticket Sales and Service for the Colorado Rapids soccer club and a consultant for teams in the NBA.

Legends Sales & Marketing has proven experience in selling ticket inventory for sports venues, and currently manages ticket sales for the San Francisco 49ers’ new stadium, the Rose Bowl, Stanford, SMU, the New York Red Bulls' Red Bull Arena and Circuit of The Americas (Formula 1 Grand Prix) in Austin, Texas, along with a number of other world-class venues.

Swimming and Diving

Junior Yawen Li tallied the most individual points for Nevada in its season-opening weekend, helping the Wolf Pack improve to 4-0 after a quad-meet victory and dual win over Fresno State. Li won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.53), 200-yard breaststroke (2:16.14) and the 200-yard IM (2:03.70) in the quad-meet, while helping the Pack win the 200-yard medley relay (1:43.86).
