Peter Sinnott was a track and cross country letterman between 1968 and 1972, and at one time held eight Nevada track records. His 1:48.2 time in the 800 meters in 1972 still stood as the longest existing individual University of Nevada Track record when he was inducted into the hall of fame. He was also a member of two relay teams which set records that also still stood in 1990 (the year he was inducted into the Hall of Fame).
