Doug Betters (1977/ Football)

Doug Betters transferred form the University of Montana and played just one year, 1977, at Nevada as a defensive tackle. He led all linemen with 72 tackles and led the team in quarterback sacks with 10, and recorded seven other tackles for losses. He was named Division II All-America by the Associated Press, and was drafted in the sixth round by the Miami Dolphins. His professional career includes over a decade of starting at defensive and for the Dolphins, two Super Bowl appearances, several years selected All-Pro, and his selection as professional football’s defensive player of the year in 1983.

Madison Morell


Madison Morell had a career-day in Nevada's 3-2 upset of No. 25 Wyoming. Morell set a new career-high with 31 kills, including five in the fifth set. Her 31 kills was just one shy of tying the program record of 32 set by Lauren Netherby. The Plano, Texas, native is the first player in the Mountain West this season to register 30+ kills and is also tied for ninth in the nation for most kills in a five-set match this season.
