Robert Ritchie (1959-61/ Basketball, Track and Field)





Ritchie, who lettered in basketball in 1959 and track and field at Nevada in 1959-61, finished seventh at the 1960 NCAA Track Field Championship at Berkeley, Calif., in the long jump with a leap of 23 feet, 11 inches. Later in the summer of 1960, he placed eighth at the United States Olympic Trials at Stanford California, in the long jump. Ritchie, who lives in the Bay Area, was a three-time Far Western Conference champion, 1959-61, in his specialty and also qualified for the 1961 NCAA meet.

Kewby Meyer

Baseball

Meyer led the Nevada baseball team to four road victories with a blistering effort at the plate, batting .600 in the Pack's win over San Francisco and sweep of San Diego State. He collected 12 hits, 12 RBI and six runs with a .950 slugging percentage. He hit a three-run home run in the series finale against the Aztecs to bat for the cycle on the series with four singles, two doubles, one triple and one home run.
