RENO, Nev. — Nevada split Saturday's doubleheader with New Mexico at Christina M. Hixson Park, dropping the opener in extra innings before bouncing back with a strong offensive showing in game two. The day was highlighted by
Hannah Di Genova's record‑breaking performance, as she became Nevada's new single‑season home run leader with her 18th and 19th of the year.

Nevada built steady momentum through the early innings, but a late New Mexico surge proved decisive as the Pack dropped the opener 12–8 in eight innings.
New Mexico opened the scoring with a run in the top of the first, but Nevada quickly answered in the bottom half to tie the game at 1–1. In the third,
Haylee Engelbrecht pushed the Pack ahead with an RBI single, and
Katie Wetteland followed with a two‑run home run to extend the lead to 4–2.
Nevada continued to add on in the fifth, where
Matlyn Leetch delivered an RBI single and Di Genova followed with an RBI knock to stretch the advantage to 6–2.
The Lobos mounted a late comeback, scoring four runs in the top of the seventh to even the game at 6–6. After a scoreless bottom half, the matchup moved into extras, where New Mexico broke through with a six‑run eighth inning. Nevada pushed across two runs in the bottom of the frame but couldn't close the gap.

Tess Bumiller pithced 4.0 innings, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out four.
Talia Tretton worked 1.1 innings and giving up five runs with one strikeout.
Hailey McLean followed with 2.0 innings, allowing four runs while recording three strikeouts.
Ainsley Berlingeri closed the eighth, throwing 0.2 innings and allowing two runs on two hits. The staff combined for nine strikeouts across the eight‑inning matchup.

Nevada responded with force later in the evening, using an offensive push and a historic performance from Di Genova to secure a 12–7 victory.
New Mexico again struck first with a run in the top of the second, but Engelbrecht answered immediately with a solo home run to tie the game. The Pack surged ahead moments later when
Talia Tretton lined a two‑RBI single, and Leetch added an RBI single to make it 4–1.
The Lobos countered with a six‑run third inning to take a 7–4 lead, but Nevada didn't let up.
Bailie Clark scored on a wild pitch to bring the Pack within two.
With two runners on base, Di Genova launched a three‑run home run, giving Nevada an 8–7 lead and officially becoming the program's single‑season home run record holder with her 18th of the year.
Nevada continued to push.
Madison Clark tripled home a run to extend the lead, and Wetteland followed with an RBI single to make it 10–7. Di Genova then delivered her second home run of the night, her 19th of the season, to push the advantage to 12–7 and seal the win.
Sofie Seese delivered 2.0 steady innings while allowing just two hits and an unearned run, forcing five flyouts on 35 pitches. Ainsley Berlingeri handled the third, working through a high‑traffic frame as New Mexico pushed across three runs on no hits, capitalizing on walks. Tess Bumiller took over from there and shut the door, earning her 11th win with a composed 4.0‑inning finish. She scattered five hits, allowed two earned runs, struck out four, and faced just 19 batters on 73 pitches.
Nevada now turns its attention to a midweek matchup against the Pacific Tigers on Tuesday, April 14 at Christina M. Hixson Park.
