Nevada wrapped up its Mountain West season with a seventh place finish at the Mountain West Championships at Eisenhower Blue Golf Course in Colorado Springs Colorado. The favorite going into the race, and last year's champion, New Mexico won the conference crown with 31 points followed by Boise State finishing with 60 points. Colorado State was 3rd with 117 points, the host school Air Force Academy finished 4th with 118 points, Utah State finished with 121 points in 5th, and Wyoming came in 6th with 143 points ahead of the Pack who finished with 162 points.
Nevada earned three points towards the "Governor's Series presented by NV Energy" by finishing ahead of rival UNLV who finished in 11th place with 330 points. The Wolf Pack is now tied 3-3 with the Rebels in the series.
Junior Demerey Kirsch led the Wolf Pack finishing in 15th place at 22:13 while sophomore Emily Myers was the second Nevada runner across the line in 22:41 for 28th place, and senior Samantha Diaz was the third Wolf Pack finisher in 35th place with a time of 22:53. Sophomore Erika Root and junior Caitlin Devitt-Payne rounded out Nevada's top five scoring runners finishing in 45th and 48th place respectively. Senior Judie Pederson and sophomore Laura Palacios were close behind with 50th and 52nd place finishes respectively, and freshman Cheyenne Hunter finished in 57th place.
The Pack will travel to the Doc Adams Invitational in Davis, Calif. for a race on Nov. 9th, and will be traveling to the NCAA Mountain Regional Championships on Nov. 15th.
