Reno, Nev. - The Nevada cross country team will be traveling to Colorado Springs, Colo. to compete in the 2013 Mountain West Championships hosted by the Air Force Academy at the Eisenhower Blue Golf Course. The women's 6-kilometer race begins at 9:45 a.m. Friday, November 1st.
Nevada was picked to finish 7th by Mountain West coaches. New Mexico is the favorite receiving nine first place votes, and Boise State has been picked to finish second. Ten teams will be joining Nevada to compete for the Mountain West crown.
With everyone on the team healthy Nevada head coach Kirk Elias is confident in his team's ability, "We are ready to do some good things. The team is entirely focused on the team concept and running a great team race." This will be the first time Nevada has competed on the course which sits at an elevation of over 6,000 ft. "The altitude makes this race very unpredictable, and we may see some very interesting things," Coach Elias said of the race.
