RENO, Nev. - This past Friday night, the Nevada cross country and track & field programs hosted the Nevada Miles fundraiser at Mackay Stadium.
The event featured a number of unique, mile-long races for all levels of ability, whether running or walking. Highlighted races included the Alumni Mile, a Survivor’s Mile for any who have survived cancer or heart disease, a Wheelchair Mile and a Chocolate Milk Mile. Each participant in the Chocolate Milk Mile drank a half pint of chocolate milk before each lap.
The Nevada cross country team begins its 2014 season this Friday, Aug. 29 when the team hosts the Twilight Classic at Shadow Mountain Park in nearby Sparks at 6:30 p.m.
