The Rebels currently lead the race for the Mountain West's automatic NCAA Tournament bid ... Nevada fell 3-0 to Fresno State on October 6 and 3-2 to the UNLV two days earlier ... The Bulldogs' Marissa Brand has 316 kills for the team lead and second place in the conference ... Her teammate Maci Murdock has 207 kills and leads the conference in hitting percentage at .352 ... RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-22) to the Fresno State Bulldogs in a Mountain West tilt on Saturday at the Virginia Street Gym.

Tessa Lea'ea continued her drive toward a conference honor with 18 kills and six blocks in two matches ... She leads Nevada in kills (274) and is the only Nevada player with more than 250 ... She also leads Nevada with 120 total blocks and is the only player with more than 100 ... Jody Purdi led the Cowgirls on the offensive end coming in ... She had 276 kills on 786 attacks for a .223 hitting percentage ... Purdi had 11 kills vs. Nevada ... The Rams are led by Dana Cranston and Megan Plourde ... Cranston had 233 kills coming in ... Plourde had 117 total blocks ... Cranston had 12 kills to lead CSU against the Pack ... Plourde had four blocks.

Immediate Impact - Kara Kasser, a freshman from Brea, Calif. (Brea Olinda HS) has made her mark on the 2012 Wolf Pack. The defensive specialist is second among Nevada players with 211 digs in 88 sets. Her average of 2.40 per set is also second on the team. In addition, Kasser is one of only four Nevada players to see the court in every set this year.

Team Notes

Remaining Schedule - The Pack will split its six remaining matches between the Virginia Street Gym and a collection of road venues. Next week, Nevada will welcome Boise State and Air Force to VSG. The final home match of 2012 will be against Air Force on November 10 at 1 p.m. The Pack will honor its three outgoing seniors, Janelle Batista, Kelly Chang and Elissa Ji.

Conference Ranking - Two Nevada players are in the top-10 in various categories in the Mountain West. Lea'ea is fourth in total blocks at 118, fourth in blocks per set at 1.39, fifth in points at 333 and seventh in kills at 274. Kelly Chang is in the top-10 in service aces per set. She is fifth at .30.
