Pack Hits the Road For Two Matches

Week 11 - Thursday, November 1 at Fresno State, 7 p.m. (Fresno, Calif. - Save Mart Center) - Saturday, November 3 at UNLV, 7 p.m. (Las Vegas, Nev. - Cox Pavilion) Notes This Week - The Wolf Pack, 4-19 (1-9 MW) will take to the road for two matches, meeting Fresno State, 15-8 (6-3 MW) on Thursday at 7 p.m. and UNLV, 15-7 (7-2 MW) on Saturday at 7 p.m. ... The Rebels currently lead the race for the Mountain West's automatic NCAA Tournament bid ... Nevada fell 3-0 to Fresno State on October 6 and 3-2 to the UNLV two days earlier ... The Bulldogs' Marissa Brand has 316 kills for the team lead and second place in the conference ... Her teammate Maci Murdock has 207 kills and leads the conference in hitting percentage at .352 ... UNLV has three players with at least 200 kills, led by Daryn Glenn at 256 ... Nevada's starting lineup may look different than it has for the majority of the season, as Taylar Rothfuss has started the team's last two matches at the setter position.
Immediate Impact - Kara Kasser, a freshman from Brea, Calif. (Brea Olinda HS) has made her mark on the 2012 Wolf Pack. The defensive specialist is second among Nevada players with 211 digs in 88 sets. Her average of 2.40 per set is also second on the team. In addition, Kasser is one of only four Nevada players to see the court in every set this year. Team Notes Remaining Schedule - The Pack will split its six remaining matches between the Virginia Street Gym and a collection of road venues. Next week, Nevada will welcome Boise State and Air Force to VSG. The final home match of 2012 will be against Air Force on November 10 at 1 p.m. The Pack will honor its three outgoing seniors, Janelle Batista, Kelly Chang and Elissa Ji. Conference Ranking - Two Nevada players are in the top-10 in various categories in the Mountain West. Lea'ea is fourth in total blocks at 118, fourth in blocks per set at 1.39, fifth in points at 333 and seventh in kills at 274. Kelly Chang is in the top-10 in service aces per set. She is fifth at .30.
