- Saturday, October 20 vs. New Mexico at 1 p.m. (Reno, Nev. - Virginia Street Gym)

This Week - Nevada 4-16 (1-6 MW) returns to Reno to conclude the first half of its Mountain West schedule ... After the Wolf Pack takes on the New Mexico Lobos at VSG on Saturday afternoon it will have met each conference opponent once ... New Mexico 17-4 (4-2 MW) has been average in road matches this season, the only place the Lobos record shows some strain ... They are 2-3 in away matches in 2012 ... They are led on the offensive end by sophomore outside hitter Chantale Riddle ... She leads the Mountain West with 312 kills on more than 800 attacks ... Two players have done most of the setting for New Mexico ... Hannah Johnson has 414 assists ... Jordan Russell has 388.

Promotions Corner - Nevada's only match this week will feature three promotions for fans to take part in ... It will be pink day in support of the American Cancer Society, with any Nevada fan wearing pink allowed into the game for free and Nevada wearing pink jerseys ... Nevada volleyball will do its part to "Spike Out Bullying", with fans writing how they have overcome bullying on signs passed out at the door ... Between the second and third sets, fans will hold up their signs, encouraging each other to end bullying by standing up to their negative experiences ... The third promotion will be run in conjunction with the "Spike Out Bullying" initiative ... About 20 high school and middle school teams have registered with Nevada athletics, allowing them into the match for free.  

Last Week - Nevada traveled for two matches, meeting Air Force on Thursday in Colorado Springs, Colo. and Boise State on Saturday in Boise ... Against Air Force, Tessa Lea'ea was three kills behind Janelle Batista who led Nevada with 18 ... Despite being second in kills that day, Lea'ea had the most impressive offensive performance of any player, recording her 15 kills without committing an error and hitting .652 ... The Falcons are led by Cami Richan on the offensive end ... The junior outside hitter from Highland, Utah had 231 kills going into the contest with Nevada ... She had eight kills against the Pack ... Boise State was 5-2 at home and had an even 1,000 kills as a team in 2012 when they met Nevada last week.

Error Free Thursday - Lea'ea's full stat line against the Falcons showed the sophomore's continued strength on both ends of the floor ... Offensively, her 15 kills came on 23 attacks ... Without an error, she hit .652, a career-high ... She added six total blocks, one solo and five assisted ... She also scored 18.5 points.

 

Team Notes

Conference Ranking - A number of Nevada players are in the top-10 in various categories in the Mountain West. Dana Holt is fifth with 639 assists. Tessa Lea'ea is first in total blocks at 110, fourth in blocks per set at 1.39, fourth in points at 310.5 and sixth in kills at 247. Kelly Chang is in the top-10 in service aces per set. She is eighth at .27.

Contributions - Grace Anxo, Bonnie Paul and Kelly Chang have all chipped in to help the Pack this season ...  Anxo has started each match ... She has 160 digs, 132 kills and 31 total blocks ... Paul has 122 kills, 40 total blocks and 16 service aces in 74 sets ... Chang earned all-tournament libero honors at the Utah Classic and has 213 digs in 74 sets.

Positive Percentage - In eight of the nine sets the Wolf Pack played last week, the offense hit a positive percentage, recording at least as many kills as errors. The most efficient set of the week came in the fourth frame against Boise State, when Nevada recorded 14 kills to only three errors, hitting .407 on 27 attacks.

Team Highs - As a team, Nevada's match highs for the season are ... 67 kills vs. Texas Tech on Sept. 19 ... a .256 attack percentage vs. Texas Tech on Sept. 19 ... 185 attempts on Oct. 4 vs. UNLV ... 62 assists vs. Texas Tech on Sept. 19 ... 75 digs vs. UNLV on Oct. 4 and Wyoming on Sept. 24 ... 14 aces vs. Tulane on Aug. 24 ... 17.5 blocks vs. Wyoming on Sept. 29.
