RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada volleyball team will open its home schedule on Thursday at 7 p.m. against UC Davis. The match will be the first of the Wolf Pack Invitational, which welcomes the Aggies, as well at Weber State, Grand Canyon and Illinois State to the Virginia Street Gym over three days.
This Week - The Wolf Pack is 0-3 after a trip to the Cal Molten Invitational ... Nevada will play UC Davis at 7 p.m. on Saturday and twice on Friday (9 a.m. vs. Weber State and 6 :30 p.m. vs. Illinois State) ... Nevada is ... 8-4 all-time against UC Davis, with the last meeting coming in 2010 (L, 3-0) ... 6-9 all-time against Weber State, with the last meeting also coming in 2010 (W, 3-0) ... The Pack has never taken the court against Illinois State.

To the Edge - Nevada pushed UCSB to the brink inside Haas Pavilion on Saturday, falling 3-2 (21-25, 25-22, 20-25, 25-23, 8-15). The match featured a number of notable highlights, including : Tessa Lea'ea became the first Nevada player to record 20 kills in a match this season, hitting 20 on the number ... She added 8.5 blocks, a season high ... Grace Anxo had 15 digs, also a season high early in the year ... Newcomer Madison Morell played extremely well, recording 11 kills to set a career high ... Sam Willoughby had 14 kills, another season high ... The match was the first this season in which three players recorded at least 10 kills ... Another first came against the Gauchos, this time from Dana Holt ... She recorded Nevada's first double-double with 49 assists and 10 digs.
Stout Defense - Nevada was strong at the net throughout the weekend in Berkeley, recording 26 blocks (eight solo, 36 assisted) to only 23 for its opponents ... 15 of those blocks came in Nevada's final game against UCSB, setting an early season high on defense.
Over 100 - Nevada has already recorded 100 kills as a team, finishing its first weekend with 106. Last season, Nevada recorded 1,173 as a team.
The Aggies are 0-3 after a week of play ... They fell 3-2 to San Diego State ... 3-1 to LSU ... 3-1 to UTSA ... They traveled to Baton Rouge to compete in the Tiger Classic hosted by LSU.
As a team they are ... Hitting .201 with 171 kills on 508 attacks ... Have 19 service aces and commit only 1.5 receiving errors per set.
