June 15, 2017

RENO, Nev.  – Defensive specialist Ashley Maki is joining the Nevada volleyball squad, head coach Lee Nelson announced Thursday.

Maki, measuring up at 5-6, will help fill depth in the back row. She’s also as a stellar server with a total of 236 career aces from high school, which is a James C Enochs High School and conference record in Modesto, Calif. She also helped lead her team to conference championships in 2014 and 2016 while being named first team All-Conference in her sophomore, junior and senior years.

“Ashley is a great fit for Nevada and brings a lot of passion to how she plays volleyball,” Nelson said. “She is highly motivated and adds some solid depth to our defensive specialist position."

Maki will join the other four newcomers to the squad, who will report to campus at the end of the month to join the returners on the team.
