RENO, Nev. – The University of Nevada (4-26, 2-16 MW) volleyball team lost its final home match of the season to New Mexico (22-7, 12-6 MW) on Senior Night at the Virginia Street Gym. The Lobos won in three sets 25-22, 25-14 and 25-19 to improve to 22-7 on the season and 12-6 in the Mountain West. The Wolf Pack fell to 4-26 and 2-16 in conference play.
Following the match seniors Grace Anxo and Dana Holt were recognized for their contributions to Wolf Pack volleyball on Senior Night. Anxo, a four-year starter at outside hitter is from Reno. Holt from Yorba Linda, Calif. has started the last two seasons at setter for the Pack.
The Lobos closed out the first set with a 5-2 run to break a 20-20 tie to win 25-22. UNM jumped to a 12-6 advantage in the second set and settled for the 25-14 victory. The final set was tied at 14 before the Lobos outscored the Pack 11-5 to win 25-19 and take the match 3-0.
Tessa Lea'ea led the Pack with 10 kills and libero Kara Kasser totaled 10 digs. Senior setter Dana Holt finished with 16 assists and freshman setter Lyndsey Anderson had 14.
Chantale Riddle recorded a double-double with 15 kills and 12 digs for the Lobos. Devnne Sours added 12 kills. Setter Hannah Johnson had a match-high 32 assists and Miquella Lovata a match-high 15 digs.
The Pack hit .145 and UNM .284. The Lobos had eight blocks and Nevada six.
Nevada ends the season with road matches at Utah State on Wednesday and at Boise State Friday.
