RENO, Nev. –  The University of Nevada (3-25, 1-15 MW) volleyball team lost a Mountain West home match to UNLV (15-11, 10- 6 MW) by scores of 25-15, 25-17, and 25-17.  The Rebels earned three points in the Governor’s series presented by NV Energy for the win after taking both matches from the Wolf Pack this season.

The loss dropped the Pack to 3-25 and 1-15 in the MW while UNLV improved to 15-11 and 10-6 in the conference.

UNLV’s Stephanie Thelen served the first seven points of set one and the Rebels went on to win 25-15.  With the second set tied at nine the Rebels outscored Nevada 16-8 to win the set 25-17.  In the third set the Rebels scored the first point and did not trail in winning 25-17 to take the match 3-0.

Tessa Lea’ea led the Pack with eight kills and libero Kara Kasser had a match-high 14 digs.  Nevada setters Lyndsey Anderson (16) and Dana Holt (11) both reached double figures in assists.

Julia Topor finished with a match-high 12 kills for UNLV.  Setter Stephanie Thelen totaled 31 assists and Sekola Falemaka finished with 10 digs.

The Pack hit .020 and the Rebels 239.  UNLV had 12.5 blocks compared to four for Nevada.

Nevada concludes the home schedule next week with two MW matches.  Air Force is at the Virginia Street Gym on Friday and New Mexico on Saturday.  Both matches start at 7 p.m.
