Paul in Double Digits, Pack Falls 3-0 to Wyoming

RENO, Nev. - Despite scoring 24 points in games two and three, the University of Nevada volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-15, 26-24, 26-24) to Wyoming on Thursday night at the Virginia Street Gym.

With the loss, Nevada fell to 4-18 (1-8 MW). Wyoming improved to 16-8 (4-5 MW) with the victory.

Bonnie Paul led the Wolf Pack with 10 kills, followed by Janelle Batista and Tessa Lea'ea with nine each. Lea'ea led Nevada with a .200 hitting percentage on 30 attacks.

Starting her second match of the season at the setter position, freshman Taylar Rothfuss posted a career-high 32 assists. She also had four assisted blocks and scored five points. Kelly Chang led the Pack with 14 digs and was the only player to reach double digits defensively.

Grace Anxo had six kills and five digs in the defeat and Nevada had 13 blocks as a team. Kara Kasser also chipped in with nine digs against the Cowgirls.

Nevada will stay at home for its next match, taking on Colorado State on Saturday night at 7 p.m. in VSG.
