FRESNO, Calif. - The University of Nevada (2-16, 0-6 MW) volleyball team lost at Fresno State (10-8, 4-2 MW) tonight by scores of 25-17, 25-22 and 25-19. The loss drops the Wolf Pack to 2-16 on the season and 0-6 in the Mountain West while the Bulldogs improved to 10-8 and 4-2 in conference action.
FS jumped out early in the first set taking a 5-1 lead and never trailed in winning 25-17. With set two tied at 18 the Bulldogs closed out the set with a 7-4 run to take the set 25-22 and a 2-0 advantage into the break. With set three tied early at four the Bulldogs scored the next six points on the way to the 25-19 victory and 3-0 match win.
Senior Grace Anxo led the Pack with 10 kills and junior Tessa Lea`ea added eight. Setter Lyndsey Anderson dished out 30 assists.
Korrin Wild and Marissa Brand topped FS with 13 and 12 kills respectively. Setter Christina Lee totaled 24 assists.
The Pack hit .187 in the match and FS .376. The Bulldogs had nine blocks and Nevada three.
Nevada returns home for a pair of MW matches this week. Boise State is at the Virginia Street Gym on Thursday night at 7 p.m. Utah State is in Reno Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
