RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada volleyball team fell 3-0 (21-25, 20-25, 13-25) to the Illinois State Redbirds on Friday, concluding the Pack's play at the Wolf Pack Invitational.

Nevada fell to 1-5 with the loss, while Illinois State improved to 4-1 with the win.

Grace Anxo led the way for Nevada in the box score, collecting more kills (9) and digs (9) than any other Pack player. Tessa Lea'ea also had another strong match, making the most of her opportunities at the net with seven kills on only 16 attacks. Her .375 hitting percentage led all players with at least 10 attempts.

As a team, Nevada had 33 kills, 32 of which were assisted. The strong offensive performance was in contrast to Nevada's win against Weber State earlier in the day, when the Pack was led by its blocking defense. Against Illinois State, Nevada had only two team blocks (four assisted).

12 players took the court for the Pack, as the Nevada coaching staff looked for a lineup that would stem the momentum of Illinois State, who has won its first two matches this weekend.

Sam Willoughby had eight kills, giving her 49 for the year. That trails Lea'ea for the team lead by only five kills. Anxo now has 46 kills on the season. The Pack has 207 as a team.

Nevada will return to the court in Lubbock, Texas at an event hosted by the Red Raiders of Texas Tech. The Pack opens the event against Cal State Fullerton on Friday, Sept. 13 at 10:30 a.m.
