WHAT’S HAPPENING

The Wolf Pack track and field team has three athletes competing in the NCAA West Preliminary Round at the John McDonnell Field on the Arkansas campus in Fayetteville, Ark.  Today two members of the Silver and Blue are in action as women’s field events get underway.  Senior Kerri Simmons will be representing the Pack in the shot put, and sophomore Raffaela Wiesbeck will be competing in the javelin throw.

WHO’S COMPETING

Simmons enters competition ranked 32nd in the west thanks to a 51’3.5” shot put at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. on April 17th.  Her personal best throw, and school record, 53’2.75” set last season would tie the 12th best mark in the West this season.

With a throw of 156’1”, the second best mark recorded in the Mountain West this season, Wiesbeck is ranked 33rd in the West.  With the mark she set at the Mountain West Championships she currently holds the number seven spot on the Nevada All-Time Top-Ten list for the javelin throw.
