Boice Finishes Second in the High Jump on Day Two of the Brutus Hamilton Invitational hosted by Cal





BERKELEY, Calif. Inger Appanaitis and Amanda Boice each recorded a second-place finish on day two of the Brutus Hamilton Invitational hosted by Cal at Edwards Stadium.

Other schools competing in the meet include, Cal, Stanford, San Diego State, New Mexico, Utah State, Illinois, Fresno State, Houston, San Francisco and St. Mary’s.

 

Appanaitis finished second with a throw of 46.41m in the javelin.  She has already recorded a regional qualifying mark in the javelin this season.

 

Appanaitis finished fourth in the shot put with a season-high throw of 13.32m.  Constance McAlman finished fifth in the shot put with a mark of 13.13m.  Jalessa Jeffery took eighth with a season-best throw of 12.76m.  Emily Jacobsen finished in ninth place (12.49m).

 

Boice finished second overall in the high jump with a season-high jump of 1.70m.  Cortney Beasley finished fifth in the high jump with a personal best jump of 1.65m. 

 

Nevada will have one more regular-season meet before the 2008 WAC Outdoor Championships.  The Pack will compete in the Aggie Twilight hosted by UC Davis on May 9 and 10 before competing in the WAC Championships May 14-17 hosted by Boise State in Boise, Idaho.
