THOUGHTS FROM THE COACHES
Coach Twiggs, head coach, "I have been pleased with the efforts each athlete has given throughout the season. As we gear up for our final two regular season competitions our goals are to see continued improvement and move up in the conference standings."
Coach Elias, distance, "I want to see all out athletes continue to improve prior to the conference championships. Our intent this weekend when we go down to Cal is to get people ready to rock. We are going to focus on racing well however the race sets up, and continue the process of becoming a better racer no matter what is thrown at the athletes."
Coach Williamson, field/jumps, "We are trying to balance reaching for higher goals with being cautions for the conference championships. Nationals are six weeks away, and we want to be there and competing well, but we need to limit our throws to prepare for conference championships. Simmons has only been in two shot put competitions and we expect her to beat her PR either this week or at the Payton Jordan Invitational the following meet."
Results will be posted at Nevadawolfpack.com in .pdf format along with a recap of the event each day after the action.
The Pack will be competing at the Payton Jordan Invitational hosted by Stanford University the first weekend of May. The following week the Silver and Blue will be taking on the rest of the Mountain West at the outdoor conference championships hosted by Wyoming University.
