The 55th Mt. Sac Relays will take place on the campus of Mount San Antonio College. Azusa Pacific University will host the Bryan Clay Invitational, while the Long Beach State Invitational will take place at Cerritos College.
THOUGHTS FROM COACH TWIGGS
“This will be one of our biggest challenges this season,” head coach Shantel Twiggs said. “We will face some fierce competitors in each of the meets. It will be an important test to see where we are and how far we have to go to reach our full potential. Our goal is to continue to progress and build with each competition.”
BUSY WEEKEND FOR THE PACK
This weekend will provide the Wolf Pack with plenty of opportunities to compete, helping them sharpen up with the Mountain West Championships just three weeks away. The team has a lot to be confident in, after having strong performances from a handful of athletes competing in the Mondo Invitational last weekend. With more women in action throughout various venues this weekend, the ladies can gain some momentum adding to their confidence.
RECAP OF LAST MEET
The Pack received first place finishes from Senior La Tijera Avery (Long jump) and Junior Kerri Simmons(Shot put) at last weekend’s meet. Avery also finished second in the high jump rounding out her solid weekend. Seniors Samantha Calhoun and Angelica Earls both had career best times in the 200 meter dash finishing second and third overall respectively. Another weekend of big performances is just what the team needs heading into the final weeks of competition.
