Nevada Heads to Mondo Challenge

RENO, Nev. -
The University of Nevada track and field team will head to Sacramento, Calif. to participate in the Mondo Mid-Major Challenge this weekend.
The meet will be team scored and will also feature programs from Sacramento State, Utah State, Fresno State, Portland State, UC Davis, Idaho and the Academy of Art. There will also be several high caliber individuals who will be competing unattached. The challenge will take place at Hornet Stadium on the campus of Sacramento State.
RECAP OF LAST MEET
In Nevada’s last meet at the Stanford Invitational, junior Aislynn Mueller ran an outdoor season best time of 62.32 in the 400m hurdles to win her heat. Junior Deborah Amoah had a 12.45m mark in the triple jump, which was just off of her personal best finish to take fifth place. Senior Danielle Stallworth made the finals in javelin, finishing with a throw of 128’2”.
THOUGHTS FROM COACH TWIGGS
“This weekend give us another opportunity to improve and move up in the conference and regional standings,” head coach Shantel Twiggs said. “Our goal is to continue to execute and build on past performances. We will also be given the opportunity to compete against several of our conference foes in action at the challenge.”
