The Wolf Pack track and field team completed action at the Mondo Mid-Major Challenge hosted by Sacramento State in Sacramento, Calif. The Pack had a limited number of athletes competing, and brought home 10 top 10 finishes.
Sophomore Kennedy Hall finished in ninth place in the hammer throw with a mark of 149’4”, and sixth place shot put with a mark of 41’1.5”. Senior teammate and standout thrower Kerri Simmons competed in the hammer throw finishing in seventh place with a mark of 155’8”.
Alison Powers and Caitlin Owen wrapped things up for the Wolf Pack field athletes by both placing in the top 10 of the pole vault. Powers had the best vault of her collegiate career finishing in a tie for fourth place by clearing a height of 11’9.75” and Owen finished in a tie for ninth place after vaulting 10’10”.
The Wolf Pack short and middle distance sprinters were busy over the weekend with freshman Fiyin Olusola leading the way for Nevada. Olusola finished 10th in the 100-meter dash with a personal best time of 12.32. Olusola was also in action in the 100-meter hurdles where she finished in seventh place with a time of 14.73.
Joining Olusola with a top ten finish in the 100-meter hurdles was freshman Jennifer Delucchi who ran a time of 15.38.
In the 400-meter hurdles freshman Katelin Westerterp finished with a time of 1:08.61 to collect a sixth place finish.
Clocking in with a personal best time of 2:16.58, freshman Reighan Fisher finished 10th in the 800-meter dash.
The Pack will have athletes competing across Southern California next weekend as the Mt. SAC relays kick off on Wednesday the 16th in Walnut, Calif. and continue through the 19th. Several Pack athletes will also compete at the Clay Invite hosted by Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, Calif. on Friday the 18th, and other members of the Silver and Blue will be at the Beach Invitational hosted by Long Beach State in Norwalk, Calif. on Saturday the 19th.
