The University of Nevada track and field team will head to Sacramento, Calif., to participate in the Mondo Invitational this weekend.
The meet will take place at Sacramento State. Joining Nevada at the event will be teams from Sacramento State, BYU, Utah State, Fresno State, Portland State, UC Davis, Montana State, and Detroit Mercy.

Senior Deborah Amoah had a strong outing at the event last season, finishing second in the long jump with a mark of 5.93m.
RECAP OF LAST MEET
The team finished second in its last meet at the Cal-Nevada Championships hosted by the University of San Diego. Nevada was led by the strong arm of junior Kerri Simmons from the throws group. Simmons set a new Wolf Pack record with a first place finish in the shot put, hitting a mark of 51’1.75”. The previous record was set by Stephanie Tietjen in 2003, with a throw of 50’11.5”. The mark by Simmons leads the Mountain West and currently ranks 15th in the region.
Deborah Amoah had multiple wins at the meet, finishing first in the long jump (5.92m) and triple jump (12.26m). Senior La Tijera Avery placed first in the high jump with a mark of 1.73m.
