Track and Field at Woody Wilson Classic Saturday

RENO, Nev. The University of Nevada track and field team will compete at the Woody Wilson Track and Field Classic Saturday in Davis, Calif.


Including Nevada teams scheduled to compete include: UC Davis; Sacramento State; Santa Clara, American River, De Anza College and San Francisco.


The women’s events will began at 9:30 a.m. with the hammer throw and will conclude at 5:20 p.m. with the 4x400m relay.


“This will be a great opportunity for our team to get a competition after having this past weekend off,” head coach Shantel Twiggs said.  “As we prepare for the second half the season, our goal is to go out and put together season bests, personal best performances and continue our climb up the conference and national lists.”


To date this season Nevada has three regional qualifiers in a total of four events.  Constance McAlman has qualified in the hammer and discus, Christa Avena in the 3000m steeplechase and Analisa Serrano in the 100m hurdles.
