The University of Nevada track and field team will travel to Stanford, Calif. to participate in the Stanford Invitational Saturday.
The Stanford Invitational is in its 38th year and will take place at the Cobb Track/Angell Field on the campus of Stanford University.
RECAP OF LAST MEET
Nevada had a strong outing from freshman Kashae Knox in its last meet at the Cal-Nevada Championships. Knox finished first in the 200m, recording a personal best time of 24.44 which is good for third on the all-time program list. The freshman also finished second in the100m with a time of 12.02 to tie her personal best mark.
Junior Deborah Amoah had a solid showing in the long jump, finishing third and cracking the 19ft barrier for the first time with a 19'.5" mark. Amoah also finished fifth in the 100m hurdles (14.53) and triple jump (40’.75”).
The team was led by seniors Sarah Nichols and Danielle Stallworth in the javelin event. Nichols took second place with a mark of 138’8” and Stallworth finished in fourth with a mark of 131’0”.
