A LOOK BACK AT LAST SEASON
This week last season:
The Wolf Pack track and field team was off this week last season after finishing second the previous week at the Cal-Nevada Championships in La Jolla, Calif. The Pack finished behind San Diego State, and edged out Sacramento State for second.
In the 2013 Cal-Nevada Championships junior Kerri Simmons captured the Nevada All-Time top mark in the shot put passing Stephanie Tietjen with a mark of 51’1.75”. Simmons has since improved her shot put personal and school record to 53’2.75”.
Also inking her name into the Nevada All-Time top-ten list was Demerey Kirsch who won the steeplechase with a time of 10:38.43 which is the third best time in program history.
THOUGHTS FROM THE COACHES
Coach Elias, distance, “Training has been real solid, and a lot of our distance athletes should compete well. They have had some rest going into this weekend, and should have some good performances.”
Coach Williamson, multi/jumps, “We have a good javelin group who is excited with their performances so far, and sees the post season in their realm of possibilities. We will have other athletes opening up this weekend and they will be in pretty good positions to do well this weekend.”
