SEATTLE, Wash. -

The University of Nevada Track and Field team had several members improve marks at the University of Washington Final Qualifier meet Saturday.

La Tijera Avery finished in first place in the high jump with a school record mark of 1.83m. That finish currently places Avery tied for No. 7 in the country. Deborah Amoah had a solid day in the triple jump, setting a school record with a 12.50m mark to finish second.

"I am very proud of how we represented our program today," head coach Shantel Twiggs said. "I anticipate La Tijera's mark will place her into the Indoor National Championships."

Angelica Earls ran in a heat of only two people in the 60m dash, tying her previous school record of 7.45m. Samantha Diaz just missed her personal best time in the mile by .09, clocking in at 4:42.55.

"The girls really stepped up and we are already looking forward to the 2013 indoor season."

The team will be officially notified early next week if any members qualified for the Indoor Championships.

Up next for the team is a visit to Davis, Calif. where the team will participate in the Aggie open next weekend.
