Nevada Track and Field Travels to UW Final Qualifier

The University of Nevada Track and Field team will send several members to the University of Washington Final Qualifier meet this weekend.

The meet provides the final opportunity for athletes to improve their marks enough to make the cut for the NCAA Indoor Championships, which are just over a week away on March 9-10 in Boise, Idaho. The UW Qualifier is one of 11 Final Qualifiers across the nation.
Avery will participate in the high jump where she currently sits tied at 22nd in the country with a mark of 5'10.75. Amoah will try and beat her 40'6.25 mark in the triple jump. Diaz will run the mile, attempting to shorten her time of 4:42.46 which is close to a school record. Diaz's time is also good for 51st place in the country. Earls will look to beat out her current school record 7.45 mark in the 60m dash.
Nevada has had two indoor national qualifiers, (Miranda Brownson 2004-All-America, Kali Baker 2006).
