Pack opens up first day of Indoor Championships

The University of Nevada track and field team opened up the Mountain West Indoor Championships hosted by Air Force Academy.  The first day of action started with the men’s heptathlon and the women’s pentathlon. 


Nevada sophomore Nicole Wadden was in action on for the Pack competing in the pentathlon. Wadden finished in the top five of two events, the high jump (fourth place, 5’4.5”) and the 800-meter dash (fourth place, 2:27.24). Overall Wadden finished in ninth place with 3,406 points. 

Wadden’s overall performance breakdown:

60-meter hurdles: 11th place, 9.51

High jump: fourth, 5’4.5”

Shot put: 11th place, 30’11”

Long jump: ninth place,17’0.5”

800-meter: fourth place, 2:27.24

Chari Hawkins of Utah State won the event with 4,173 points followed by Allison Reaser of San Diego State with 4,145 points and Nicole Oudenaarden of San Diego State who finished in third with 3,918 points.
