Nevada pentathlete narrowly misses top-ten finish

Seattle, Wash. University of Nevada track and field member sophomore Nicole Wadden finished up competition on Friday at the UW Invitational hosted by the University of Washington.
Wadden finished in 11th place with 3,192 points, 97 points behind tenth place Kristen Robinson from Sacramento State. Winning the pentathlon was Barbara Nwaba, running professionally for WAPF, with 4,248 points. Second place was Shayne Maurer-Springall with 3,843 points, and third place was Lauren Crockett with 3,648 points.
The highest finish for Wadden across all of the pentathlon events was in the 800-meter dash where she finished in second place with a time of 2:26:.40 behind Barbara Nwaba.
Event finishes for Wadden:
60-meter hurdles: 14th, 9.64
High jump: 13th, 5’-0.5”
Shot put: 15th, 29’-5.5”
Long jump: 16th, 16’-2.5”
800-meter dash: 2nd, 2:26.40
The Wolf Pack track team will be in action next weekend competing in the New Mexico Collegiate Track & Field/Multi Classic in Albuquerque N.M.Wadden will not have another chance to compete in the pentathlon until the Mountain West Championships
