2001: Ashcroft won both the indoor and outdoor WAC Championships. 2000: The nation’s No. 13 pole vaulter. Olympic Qualifier in the pole vault, Nevada’s first athlete to qualify while attending the school. Also qualified for both the NCAA indoor and outdoor Championships as a pole vault competitor. Was the Big West Champion in the pole vault with a mark of 13’1 1/2”, which set the school record. Ashcroft also holds the indoor pole vaulting record (12’8”). Was an Academic All-American. 1999: Placed fifth in the pole vault at the Big West Conference Championships. Earned a seventh-place standing at the Cal/Nevada Championships. High School: Earned a total of 15 letters at Sheridan HS in Sheridan, OR. Recieved four in track and volleyball, three in basketball, and two in softball and cross country. Set the school record in the pole vault. Ashcroft was named to the All-State team for three years in track and field, and was the team’s MVP for four years. Was the 1998 Junior Olympic National Champion. Personal: Daughter of Al and JoAnn Ashcroft. She was born on July 2 1980. A Secondary Education major. Enjoys anything athletic or outdoors, and spending time with her family and friends. Is a member of Champions for Christ. She also speaks at St. Mary’s Outreach programs and is a tutor/mentor at Trainer Middle School in Reno, Nev. |
