Pack Wins 16 Matches, Loses None Day One in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. - After day one of the Bulldog Classic the University of Nevada women's tennis team is a perfect 16-0, with all three doubles teams winning twice and all five players also winning twice in singles play.

As the Wolf Pack traveled with an odd number of players, senior Aodhnait Lombard is competing alongside Susan Te of Pacific.  The duo lost one game Friday en route to a berth in the third round.

In singles play Michelle Okhremchuk, Florence De Vrye and Lais Ogata lost three games combined in two straight set wins in their final matches of the day Friday.  Lombard also advanced, by a slightly slimmer margin, winning 7-6, 6-3 over Sarah Irvin of Pacific.

Last year's WAC Freshman of the Year and native of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Emma Verberne, defeated Yuki Sugiyama 6-4, 6-2 in her final match Friday.

In addition to the Pack winning each of their matches, the women did not lose a set Friday.  Play will conclude Saturday.
