RENO, Nev. – The University of Nevada women’s tennis team will continue its fall season with a trip to the Bulldog Classic this weekend, competing from Friday-Sunday.
To date, the Wolf Pack has competed in the Cal-Nike Invitational and the ITA Regional Championships. This will mark the second consecutive year that Nevada has competed in these three events while tuning up for the dual season.
At the regional championships, the Pack was led by the team of Emma Verberne and Michelle Okhremchuk throughout the event, as they earned a semifinal berth in the doubles Flight A bracket. They dropped their match on the final day to No. 1 seed Veronika Popovici and Simona Synkova of Mountain West foe Wyoming 9-7.
During the final two days of the Cal-Nike Invite, the team earned five victories, where it was also led by its top returning players, Verberne and Okhremchuk.
Nevada’s dual season will begin on January 18 at the Beach Tennis Classic in Long Beach, Calif., when the Pack takes on New Mexico.
