Verberne Set to Compete at All-American Championships

RENO, Nev. - University of Nevada women's tennis player Emma Verberne will compete in the ITA All-American Tennis Championships beginning Tuesday. 

The event began Saturday October 2 and will conclude Sunday October 8.

Verberne, a sophomore from Rotterdam, the Netherlands, was the WAC Freshman of the year in 2010 and will be the only representative from the Pack at this year's tournament.  She made it to the round of 16 in the Gold singles draw of the Cal Nike Invitational in her first Fall event this season.

The D'Novo Men's and Riviera Women's All-American Championships offer the first national singles and doubles titles of the 2010-11 collegiate tennis season.

Past ITA All-American champions include current professionals Benjamin Becker (Baylor), James Blake (Harvard), Bob and Mike Bryan (Stanford), Irina Falconi (Georgia Tech), Laura Granville (Stanford), John Isner (Georgia), Kevin Kim (UCLA), and Lisa Raymond (Florida).
