Okhremchuk Earns Mountain West Award

RENO, Nev. - Michelle Okhremchuk has been named the Mountain Region Women's Player to Watch for 2013, the Mountain West announced Wednesday.

This is the first time receiving the award in her career for Okhremchuk. This season, she was announced to the All-MW teams in singles and doubles with her partner, Emma Verberne. She was also announced as the first Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Week this season.

Okhremchuk notched a 22-7 record in singles action this season, including a 13-4 mark in dual match play. All of her victories came from position one. In the fall, she captured a Singles Flight A title at the Bulldog Classic. The 22 victories this season move her into a tie for third with Tracy King for most victories in a season, and she is fourth in career singles victories with 63.

In doubles, Okhremchuk and Verberne rolled to a 28-4 record, and were 15-2 in dual match play. The two captured a doubles title at the Bulldog Classic in the fall. The 28 doubles victories move this pair into first for doubles victories in a season.
