Women’s tennis ends regular season with MW match at Fresno State

RENO, Nev. – The University of Nevada women’s tennis team (8-8, 2-1 MW) will play at Fresno State (13-8, 2-1 MW) in its final regular season and Mountain West match on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Nevada is led by senior Sheila Morales with an overall record of 18-9 and is 2-1 in MW play. Morales’ 68 career singles victories ranks fifth in school history.

Junior Claudia Herrero is 17-10 and holds 3-0 record in conference play. Herrero was named the Mountain West Player of the Week for the second time this season after knocking off two ranked players last week. Winner of her last four singles matches on court one, she moved into the Intercollegiate Tennis Association top 100 at No. 98 after her outstanding week.

The Pack’s No. 1 doubles team of Morales and Blaga Delic are 7-4 on the season and 3-0 in MW play. The duo has won five in a row. They hold the school record with 43 career doubles wins.

Nevada’s No. 2 doubles team of Herrero and Adriana Gergelyova are 4-1 on the season and 3-1 in conference play.

Nevada falls to #41 Fresno State on Senior Day
RENO, Nev. -- The University of Nevada (8-10, 1-3 MW) women's tennis team lost 7-0 to 41st ranked Fresno State (17-8, 4-0 MW) in a Mountain West and Senior Day match at Caughlin Club today. The Wolf Pack fell to 8-10 on the season and 1-3 in MW play. FS improved to 17-8 and 4-0 in the conference.
