Boise, Idaho No. 57 Wichita State edged the 75th-ranked Nevada women’s tennis team on Saturday, 4-3 in a dual played at Boise State.
The match came down to the No. 3 singles matchup of Ly-Huong Dinh for Nevada and Lenore Lazaroiu of Wichita State. The teams were tied at 3 and Dinh took the first set 6-1 before Lazaroiu battled back for a 6-4 win in the second set. Dinh fell in the third set, 7-6 and the Shockers got the match.
The Wolf Pack got wins from three singles players Caroline Bailly, Laetitia Tan and Audrey Bardot to split singles with the Shockers.
Nevada’s 39th-ranked doubles team of Bailly and Maria Mizyuk won their match but the Shockers won the doubles point with victories in the other two matches.
Nevada will take on Montana on Sunday.
