SAN JOSE, Calif. - The University of Nevada women's tennis team was perfect to close out the San Jose State Invitational on Sunday.
The Pack had two singles matches and two doubles matches lined up on Sunday, and came out victorious in four contests. Every Pack member that traveled to the tournament was able to snatch a victory on the final day. It was a great way to close out the tournament according to head coach Guillaume Tonelli.
"The girls played hard all weekend and I am so proud to see them all win a match today," he said. "Being our final action before the spring, I know this will be a great confidence builder."
Michelle Okhremchuk and Monika Magusiak were each 3-for-3 in their singles matches this weekend after both winning on Sunday. Okhremchuk took down Daniella Silva in straight sets 6-2, 6-1 while Magusiak disposed of Elaine Chesoni 6-1, 6-2.
In doubles action, Okhremchuk teamed with Sheila Morales Hidalgo to defeat the team of Gaelle Rey and Sabi Leon-Chao of host San Jose State 8-4. The second victory came from the pair of Magusiak and Sheila Smiley, as they squeezed past Jessica Willett and Marie Klocker 8-6.
The Wolf Pack will be in action again on Jan. 14, 2014 when it begins its fall season with Hawaii.
