SAN JOSE, Calif. - The University of Nevada women's tennis team continued the San Jose State Invitational on Saturday and totaled three victories.
The Pack started day two action with singles play where it snagged two victories, then continued the afternoon with doubles play by grabbing another victory. Head coach Guillaume Tonelli knows the girls performance starts with practice.
"I am really proud of the girls, and they way they all competed," he said. "They are able to put together what we ahve been practicing all fall semester."
Michelle Okhremchuk picked up yet another victory on Saturday, her eighth of the fall season by rolling over Sofia Holmberg of the University of San Francisco 6-3, 6-4. With the victory, she sits only two victories behind former teammate Emma Verberne for career singles victories in school history. Monika Magusiak picked up the second singles victory of the day after she dropped Brooke Irish in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.
In doubles action, the team of Okhremchuk and Sheila Morales Hidalgo picked up the lone win of the day, defeating Daniella Silva and Katie Le in an extended set 8-7(4).
The final day of the San Jose State Invitational begins Sunday at 9 am.
