Nevada picks up two victories in San Jose

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The University of Nevada women's tennis team kicked off the first day of the San Jose State Invitational on Friday, and it brought home two victories.

The Pack is in action for the last time this fall, and it picked up two wins on the first day of play from San Jose, Calif. The two victories came in singles action, while the Pack dropped both doubles matches.

"We fought hard today but we came up short a few times," head coach Guillaume Tonelli said. "We were able to get in the win column and I'm proud of all the girls."

Michelle Okhremchuk picked up her seventh win of the fall, as she rolled over Gaelle Rey of host San Jose State 6-2, 6-4. Monika Magusiak picked up the second Pack victory of the day, as she dropped Justine Deleval of San Jose in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.

Play continues on Saturday with singles play at 9 am from San Jose.
