LOS ANGELES - The University of Nevada women's tennis team completed a sweep of its three match road trip on Saturday by defeating Cal State Fullerton 5-2.
The Wolf Pack (4-3) have won four straight matches with the victory over the Titans (6-4) after having dropped its first three contests. The win also snapped the Titans' five-match winning streak. Nevada earned a total of six victories on the day, two in doubles and four in singles. Emma Verberne continued her winning streak by earning her sixth straight singles victory, cruising past Morgan McIntosh in straight sets 6-1, 6-1. Michelle Okhremchuk earned a singles victory from position one, as she defeated Tiffany Mai in the three-set thriller 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.
"I'm extremely proud of how well the team played on this trip," head coach Guillaume Tonelli said. "It feels good to be on a winning streak, and I'm positive we can keep it up."
Juliette Legendre did not lose a singles match this road trip, as she won her third straight match by defeating Kalika Slevcove 6-0, 6-3. The final singles victory came from Sophie Stevens, as she defeated Emilia Borkowski in position four 6-2, 6-4.
The pair of Okhremchuk and Verberne earned its second straight victory, as they defeated the team of Mai and Monica Rodriguez 9-7. Legendre and Stevens teamed for the other victory by powering past the pair of McIntosh and Slevcove 8-4.
The Wolf Pack is in action again next on March 9 in Reno, Nev. against Fresno State for its first Mountain West Conference match at 2 p.m.
