LONG BEACH, Calif. – The University of Nevada women’s tennis team wrapped up the final day of the Beach Tennis Winter Invitational by earning four victories on Sunday.
The Wolf Pack went into battle against Colorado in singles action today, and came away with three wins, the first coming from Michelle Okhremchuk. She went up against Julyette Steur and cruised to victory in straight sets 6-2, 6-1. Emma Verberne added a victory of her own, as she defeated Winde Janssens, also in straight sets 6-4, 6-2. The final singles victory came from Sheila Smiley, after dropping the first set she overcame Mazy Watrous to win 4-6, 6-1, 6-1.
Doubles action saw the Wolf Pack come away with one victory against Long Beach State, coming from the team of Okhremchuk and Verberne. Together they defeated the team of Ebba Unden and Karolina Rozenberg by a margin of 8-4.
The Wolf Pack is next in action again on Feb. 8 against Brigham Young University.
