Entering his seventh season in 2017-18 with the Nevada women’s tennis team, Guillaume Tonelli has accumulated a 53-56 record, including going 8-10 last season which earned the Wolf Pack the No. 5 seed in the Mountain West Championships. His most successful season came in the 2012-13 where he tallied 12 wins and defeated Boise State as the No. 4 seed in the first round of the MW Championships. In six seasons, Tonelli has had six different players earn conference honors, with 21 total conference awards. Seven of them came from the Western Athletic Conference and 14 were earned in the Mountain West. He has coached Michelle Okhremchuk, who has the most singles victories in Nevada history with 88, and Emma Verberne, who has the third most all-time with 75.

Tonelli coached teammates Blaga Delic and Sheila Morales to 44 doubles victories, the most by a duo in school history. The tandem was one of 32 teams to compete in the NCAA championship during the 2014-15 season. The two teammates were named to the All-Mountain West doubles team all three years they have played together, with Morales making it all four years at Nevada. In 2014-15, they were the first Nevada duo to ever compete in the NCAA Championship. The following season, Morales and Delic won the ITA Mountain Regional Doubles Championship to advance to the 2015 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships at the UTSA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y. They were also ranked 75th by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Morales, in four years with Tonelli as coach, accumulated a 69-44 record in singles, with the 69 wins being the fifth most in school history. Morales was also named to the All-Mountain West singles team three of her four seasons.

One of Tonelli’s most successful athletes has been Claudia Herrero, who last season was the first player in program history to be named Mountain West Player of the Year. In her first season playing for the Wolf Pack, Herrero tied the school record with 24 singles victories in a single season on her way to being named All-MW in singles for the first time. This past season, Herrero went to the ITA Mountain Regionals where she defeated Morales to advance to the USA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships in Flushing, N.Y. Herrero has also been named to the All-MW singles team both seasons under coach Tonelli. She was ranked as high as 66th in singles by the ITA.

During his playing career with the Wolf Pack, Tonelli won 30 singles matches and 15 doubles matches. He went 15-10 in singles play as a junior in 2005-06 and then recorded a 15-14 record as a senior in 2006-07. Despite playing in the program for only two years, Tonelli ranks 11th all-time in Nevada in career singles victories, a spot he shares with former men's coach Chad Stoloff.

A native of Valenciennes, France, Tonelli started his collegiate career at Tyler (Texas) Junior College in where he won nationals in 2003-04 and finished second the following year. He was an Academic All-American both years at Tyler and was a two-time Academic All-WAC selection at Nevada.

Tonelli graduated from the University of Nevada in 2008 with his bachelor's degree in international business and a minor in economics. He also earned his master's in business administration from Nevada in 2011. Tonelli has been married to his wife Jessica, also a Nevada graduate, for four years.
