Nevada Goes 5-0 At Phill Hansel Duals
Houston, Texas The University of Nevada(6-0) swimming and diving team won all five of its duals that were contested the last two days at the Phill Hansel Duals hosted by the University of Houston in Houston, Texas. With the five dual victories the Wolf Pack are now 6-0 on the season.
The Pack started Saturday as they did Friday winning the first event of the day as Li Bei, Margaret Doolittle, Michaela Schmidt, and JayDee Huppert combined to place first in the 400-yard medley relay in a time of 3:50.46.
Doolittle continued her excellent swimming on day two after winning two individual events on Friday she won the 100-yard breaststroke and placed second in the 400-yard IM in addition to swimming on the winning relay Saturday. Sarah Shields was two spots back of Doolittle in the 100-yard breaststroke finishing third.
Kim Kabesh and Schmidt took second and third respectively in the 200-yard butterfly. Schmidt was not finished as she placed third in the 100-yard freestyle. Bei swam to a fourth place finish in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:06.72.
Pack divers Chelsea Sawyer and Kristin Littell placed third and fourth respectively in the 1-meter event. Sawyer scored 262.55 points and Littell 257.25 on Saturday.s
The Pack 200-yard freestyle relay of Bobbie Lee Reese, Nonie Wainwright, Huppert, and Kabesh ended the meet with a second place finish in a time of 1:36.49.
