RENO, Nev. -- Nevada’s Jojo Mi earned Mid-Major honorable mention All-America accolades Thursday, as named by CollegeSwimming.com.
The junior from Beijing, China, won 13 times this season and posted a perfect 11-0 record in dual-meet competition. The only individual event after the George Haines Invitational (October 14-15, 2011) that she entered and did not win was the 200-yard freestyle at the WAC Championships. In that event, she finished in second place at 1:46.76, less than a half a second behind Aliena Schmidtke of New Mexico State, who won at 1:46.38.
Mi won the 500 free and the 1,650 free at the WAC Championships in San Antonio, Texas, with times of 4:46.21 and 16:33.57, respectively.
Continuing to lead the Wolf Pack in freestyle and medley-relay events, she fell one individual victory shy of her total from last season (14). In three seasons, she has piled up 33 individual-event wins to go along with WAC Freshman of the Year honors in 2009-10.
